Revolutionary Boy Inu Yasha By Silver Fox CHAPTER ONE: "The Rose Crest School" Inu Yasha huffed to himself as Kagome dragged him along. “Why do we hafta go here?!” Inu Yasha whined. He was no longer wearing his normal pink kimono, instead, a trim cut black uniform. Kagome had spent all morning fussing over it with him. He had to admit though- the black made his white hair seem to blaze out. He liked that. Inu Yasha shook thoughts of fashion out of his mind as he watched Kagome tug him along the street. She was wearing her normal school uniform, not at all standing out of the crowd. Some girls who were walking along behind them, or standing to the side, were blushing at him. Was he really that handsome? Hm. Well then- maybe this uniform wasn’t so bad. He just wished it wouldn’t choke him so. With his free hand (His other was being pulled by Kagome) he unbuttoned the collar of his uniform, making breathing so much easier. Kagome glanced at him and giggled. “Silly.” She let go of his hand, as they stopped before the large gates of the school. “Hey Kagome, you never did tell me why we were here.” He said, reaching up to adjust the cap she given him to wear. “Oh. I didn’t?” She looked a bit nervous looking up at the large gates. The metal was twisted and welded into the crest of a rose. Inu Yasha’s nose twitched. “I was with some friends the other week. We passed by here and I felt a chill. It might have been something like a cold wind, but I know now that I was right. The Shikon Shard is here. I can feel it.” Kagome shivered, holding her arms. Inu Yasha perked up. “Shikon Shard? Where?!” He asked looking around. “I don’t really know. Just- in there somewhere.” Kagome shivered again. “It’s a large one by the feel of it.” “Good. Then we won’t have any problem finding it.” The dog demon smirked. He crossed his arms, and gave Kagome a fangful grin. “I can’t wait! Let’s go kick some a-” The dog demon stopped short when Kagome looked at him. “Inu Yasha, we’re under cover. We can’t just barge in, announce we’re after shards, or else the demon will just run for it.” Kagome scolded. “What?! Why not?!” He wasn’t listening. The two began to fight... “Utena!!!!!” Wakaba yelled out, jumping onto her pink haired friend’s back. The girls were right inside the school’s glorious hallway, awaiting for their class door to open. “Wakaba!! Stop it!!” Utena whined, stooping slightly at her friend’s weight. “Oh Utena! You know your my true love!” Wakaba teased, hugging her friend and closing her eyes. Utena chuckled, patting her friend’s head. “I guess. But really Wakaba- my back hurts from gym.” Utena lied. Her back really did hurt- but she didn’t say that it hurt because of the last duel she’d had with Saionji Kyouichi. Utena glanced at the rose crest ring on her left hand. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she saw the purple haired Anthy walking towards her. “Oh hi Anthy!” Wakaba said cheerfully. Utena had convinced her friend that Anthy was actually a very nice girl- despite the wild rumors that the brat Nanami spread. “Hello Miss Wakaba.” Anthy said, her bright green eyes shimmering. “Hello Miss Utena.” Anthy greeted the duelist with cheer, her mouth curving into a happy smile. “Now Anthy, you don’t need to-” Utena broke off when she heard the sound of some quarreling. “WHY?!” “CAUSE I SAID SO!!” “OH YEAH? WHO DIED AND MADE YOU GOD?!” “GOD!” “BITCH!” “MUTT!” “WENCH!!” “JERK!!!” Utena let Wakaba off her back and walked over to the balcony. The large window allowed her and her two friends to see outside. Two people were in the courtyard, screaming at each other as they walked towards the doorway. One was a girl, wearing a slightly different uniform then the regular girls uniform. The boy wore a plain black uniform, just like any other boy- but that hair!! Pure white! It had to be bleached she decided. Utena blinked as the girl stopped and glared at the boy. “INU YASHA!! CAN’T YOU JUST TRUST ME FOR ONCE?!” She shouted, tears welling up in her eyes. The boy, Inu Yasha, looked flustered, then got cross again. “KAGOME, DON’T CRY!! THIS IS NO TIME FOR THAT!” He shouted. “Lovers spat.” Wakaba poked Utena. “Oh my.” Anthy said softly. “I hope he doesn’t hit her.” Wakaba and Utena both paused- the boy certainly looked mad enough... “I’m going down there to see what’s up.” Utena said, and then took off. Wakaba blinked once, then got mad. “Hey wait for me!!!” Wakaba took off after the fleeing girl. Anthy looked around, then smiled. “I guess I’ll go too.” She jogged after them. Kagome bit her lip, and tried hard not to cry. Inu Yasha’s face softened, and he reached out. Gently, he wiped the stray tears away. “I’m sorry..” He breathed, and she barely heard it. She just smiled at him. “I know what I’m doing.. Just trust me- please?” She asked, and he had to agree. “So what do we do now?” He asked. “I put us into the school. We’re going to be students here for a bit.” Kagome twirled a lock of her black hair on her finger. “Which means YOU are going to learn.” Inu Yasha fainted..... Utena ran up just in time to see Inu Yasha fall backwards. She caught him, ‘omphing’ in surprise at his weight. For such a lean looking boy, he weighed a ton! “Inu Yasha?!” Kagome asked, stepping up and patting his cheek. “Hnn?” He asked groggily, opening his eyes. “Are you ok?? You fainted!” Kagome realized that someone was holding him up and locked gazes with Utena. “Nh?” Inu Yasha looked up at Utena as well. “GAH!” He leapt up, backing away. “I’m sorry- but you two were awfully loud, and I thought..” Utena broke off, blushing slightly. Wakaba was right behind her, peeking out at Inu Yasha. “Ooooh! He’s cute!” Wakaba bubbled. “I wonder if he’s a transfer student or something!” Wakaba stepped out and smiled. “Hi, I’m Wakaba Shinohara! What’s your name?” She asked flirtatiously. Inu Yasha just bared his teeth in reply. Kagome elbowed him in the ribs sharply. “This is Inu Yasha. I’m Kagome Higurashi.” Kagome laughed sheepishly. “Oh don’t worry bout’ us. He’s just a big jerk who likes to argue.” Kagome pinched Inu Yasha’s cheek to show there was nothing wrong with the picture. “Oh.” Wakaba sounded disappointed. They must have been involved with each other. Anthy came up, slowing her jog to a walk. “Miss Utena, did I miss anything?” Anthy asked, walking up to the pink haired girl. “Oh! No, nothing Anthy. It was a misunderstanding.” Utena laughed. “Ah.” Kagome stared at Anthy, her eyes widening.. A very cold chill ran up her spine and then back down. Kagome grabbed her stomach, as though she felt she were going to throw up. The force of the impact was enough to drive her to her knees. Inu Yasha stole a worried glance at her. “You okay Kagome?” His voice was trying to sound annoyed, but the worry betrayed him. “I-I’m fine. I just feel a little faint.” She nodded. “Are you sick? The nurse’s office is straight down the first corridor, to the left!” Wakaba helped. “Thank you.” Kagome grabbed Inu Yasha and hurried for the school. As soon as they were out of earshot, Kagome leaned close to Inu Yasha. “I think I know who it is.” It was lunch time. The bell chimed once- then twice- then a third time. Inu Yasha woke up from a nap behind the ancient japanese history book. This was a class that was a no brainer for him. It was the math, Literature, Grammar, Spelling, Science, and everything else that was hard for him. But Kagome had chosen a careful plan of classes, making sure they were together. There was only one class they weren’t together in- Gym. But that was okay, Inu Yasha could surely get along without her. Inu Yasha yawned to himself, watching Kagome happily make friends with some of the girls. One was a blonde, with pretty violet eyes. Her hair was let down, but a intricate braid was holding back her bangs. Three other girls, one with pigtails, another with wavy hair, and the final with a short hair, were with the blonde, all of them conversing with Kagome. Inu Yasha’s ears twitched angrily beneath his cap. Did that wench come here for the shards, or to giggle and gossip like an old crone?! Honestly, why did he put up with such things? Kagome finally managed to break away from Nanami (The blonde) and her three friends, Keiko (Pigtails), Aiko (wavy hair) and Yuuko (short haired). They seemed nice enough, but Kagome’s gut told her those girls were up to no good. Yes they were definitely up to no good- just looking at their nasty expressions when she turned away and took Inu Yasha’s arm. He blushed slightly at that, but permitted it anyway. She supposed he could tell she was nervous about those girls. In fact he was too- his bicep was as hard a steel, twitching slightly with paranoia. The two walked into the courtyard, enjoying the scent of roses as they reached a bench to eat their lunches at. Kagome pulled two bentos from her knapsack, and handed one to Inu Yasha. It has the instant ramen noodles sitting between the rice and chopsticks. He grinned, looking up. “I’m going to get some hot water for this okay?” He asked, getting to his feet. “Okay.” Kagome smiled. The dog demon left, his bento sitting on the bench beside her. Kagome opened her own, with some left over oden and rice. She began to eat, noting that a nice little green house was just off to her left, roses filling it’s walls. She breathed deeply, inhaling the lovely scent of the flowers. It was almost intoxicating- yet gentle and subtle. (“What perfumers would do to get a scent like that in a bottle.”) She giggled to herself. Kagome then noticed she wasn’t alone. Keiko, Aiko, and Yuuko were standing there before her. “H-Huh?” Kagome asked as Keiko slapped her chopsticks from her hand. “I heard you made Touga sad!” Keiko accused. “Wha-?” Kagome blinked. “Yeah! You broke his heart you little heartthrob!” Yuuko snarled, picking up Inu Yasha’s lunch. “Stupid little fool! Touga is a sweet guy- how dare you play with his emotions like that!” Aiko sneered. “B-But I don’t KNOW any Touga!!” Kagome protested. “We’ll see about that!” Yuuko aimed Inu Yasha’s lunch for Kagome. She threw it, hitting Kagome in the chest. The rice splattered against Kagome’s blouse, and the ramen stained her skirt.. Kagome could only stare in horror as Keiko grabbed her oden and rice and leaned back to heave it- A hand caught Keiko’s wrist, gripping it tightly. “What the hell are you doing??” A voice hissed. Keiko turned, her face a mask of anger. “Let me go you-” She stopped, seeing Inu Yasha standing there, holding a small kettle. “Uh..” She stared, as he gripped her hand, her flesh turning white under the intense pressure. “You’re hurting me!” She tugged. “Like I give a shit!” He growled, snapping his arm back, and sending Keiko into air. The girl landed hard on her face, and lay on the dirt, crying. She held her hand, where his claws had scraped her. “Inu Yasha!!” Kagome jumped up. “You didn’t need to do that!” Kagome rushed over and helped Keiko up. “Let me go you!” Keiko slapped Kagome in the face, and then scurried off, her two friends following. Kagome held her cheek, rubbing the smart away. “On second thought- she deserved it.” Kagome said, dusting herself off. Inu Yasha looked over at their ruined lunches and sighed. “I guess now would be a good time to go back to the dorm and wash my uniform huh?” Kagome asked. “What the hell will you wear?” He asked, crossing his arms. “I think I have an extra.” Kagome shrugged. Keiko sat sniffling, as Nanami bandaged her hand. “You say that boy did this to you??” Nanami asked incredulously. “Yeah. That little bitch is probably his girlfriend.” Yuuko scoffed. “Hm. I’ll tell my brother.” Nanami smiled. “No! Miss Nanami, he’d find out what we said!” Keiko protested. “No he won’t. I’ll just lie and say that the boy attacked you and the others while talking to Kagome.” Nanami smirked. “My brother will slice him in half with his sword so fast- that Inu Yasha won’t be able to explain.” The four girls giggled to themselves. CHAPTER TWO: "The Challenge" After a quick change..... Inu Yasha sighed to himself as Kagome walked alongside him, adjusting her fuku. “Man, those girls were nasty. Next time they come around me, feel free to hit them.” Kagome huffed. Inu Yasha looked at her a bit confused. She smiled brightly, her eyes closing happily. They entered the school again, to walk through the grand doorway. “Excuse me.” A voice said, and Inu Yasha felt someone tap him on the shoulder. He turned slightly, to find a short blonde standing behind him. Her violet eyes were filled with anger. “Eh?” He turned fully now, Kagome looking nonplused behind him. “Are you the bully who hit Keiko??” The girl said loudly. Talking ceased in the halls- Inu Yasha felt his throat constrict. “I only whacked her one because she deserved it.” Inu Yasha said lowly. “So you admit you hit her??!” “I never said-” Kagome placed a hand on Inu Yasha’s arm. “Nanami’s just being catty Inu Yasha. Let’s get to class okay?” She asked, tugging gently.. He growled a foul curse under his breath and put his claws away. Maybe another time.. Nanami watched Inu Yasha walk away with Kagome at his side. (“Interesting...”) She smirked. Inu Yasha stared at the basketball court. It was gym period, and he was standing awkwardly by the courtside, trying to figure out the strange game called “Basketball”. He had it figured out mostly. Each team has a basket on opposite ends of the court- the teams have to try to score goals and protect their basket at the same time. Interesting. That’s when Inu Yasha spotted her- the pink haired girl from that morning! She was wearing a black tank top with red shorts. He watched in awe as she trotted onto the court and began to play- WOW! She was good! Fast as hell too. She scored three goals before the buzzer rang. Half time now. “Man she beat us again..” A boy whined. “Can’t she let up??” Another whimpered. Inu Yasha got to his feet, and sauntered over to the girl. She was surrounded by girls, being offered towels and water bottles. “Hey. Hey you.” Inu Yasha said. The girl blinked at him. “Oh! It’s you again Inu Yasha!” She smiled cheerfully. “Yeah.” He said, blinking. He hadn’t expected her to be so cheerful. “Listen, you wanna play a little one on one?” He asked, cringing at how lame that futuristic term sounded. “Sure! Just let me put my towel down-” Utena had her towel snatched away eagerly by a bouncing Wakaba. “Go!! Go kick his butt Utena!” Wakaba cheered. That got some attention. Before the two knew it, they were both shoved towards the court by girls and boys alike. “Show her who’s boss!!” The guys urged Inu Yasha. “Sock it to him Utena!” The girls urged back. They faced off. Utena got the ball first, since Inu Yasha insisted. Utena moved to the side, and he casually did the same motion. Utena moved to the other side. He wasn’t letting up. Utena began to sweat. What was he doing? It hit her like a cold splash of water- He was blocking her like it was a reflex!! “What is going on here?” A voice asked loudly. The crowd of boys and girls fell silent, moving aside as a tall red head made his way through. His green eyes were narrowed in anger, and his long red hair whipped back with the wind. “Are you Inu Yasha??” The red head stepped right between Inu Yasha and Utena, his hands planted on his hips. “ Yeah I am. What of it?” Inu Yasha asked, forgetting Utena and looking up into his opponent’s blazing eyes. “You- You attacked my sister’s friend- Keiko.” The boy growled back. “Touga!” Utena said. “Ah, good morning Miss Utena. I see you’ve met this... ruffian.” Touga said, glancing over his shoulder to meet eyes with Utena. “Eh?” Inu Yasha raised a brow. “Did you or did you not attack Keiko?” Touga asked, pointing to Nanami and her three friends. Keiko’s eyes were filled with tears and she was sniffling. “That’s him Touga- That’s the boy that hit me!” Keiko sobbed. Touga patted her on the back. “You need to be taught a lesson young man. Meet me behind the school after class.” Touga then stalked off, to leave Inu Yasha standing there a bit shocked, while Utena turned to cast a fleeting glance at the disappearing Touga. Touga tossed a letter onto the table. Juri glanced over her cards, along with Miki. “A new duelist has come into play it seems. I take it you all got your letters as well?” Touga asked, setting down some cards. Miki clicked his timer, then put down some cards as well. “Yes. Have you found them yet Touga?” Juri sighed. “I think so. His name is Inu Yasha.” Touga smiled, looking out onto the campus from the verandah they sat on. “Oh? Interesting name.” Juri smiled widely. “And it’s a boy no less.” “Now , now Ms. Juri.” Miki smiled, writing down something on a pad of paper. “Hm.” Juri smiled and shrugged. “I challenged him to meet me today after school.” Touga said, setting down the last of his cards. “He attacked my sister’s friend- Keiko.” “T-that’s terrible!” Miki cried, eyes wide. “Yes it is. What a ruffian.” Juri murmured. “Don’t worry. I’ll kill two birds with one stone. Show him he can’t push young girls around, and defeat another duelist.” Touga smiled. “Here here!” Miki cheered. The birds sang sweetly, chirping their songs in the sun dappled trees. The school court yard was peaceful, the cool green grass soft and smooth beneath one’s feet. Inu Yasha sat on the grass, cross-legged. Utena was in front of him, sitting back on her knees. They were talking about the challenge. “T-This isn’t good.” Utena rubbed her temples. “If he challenged you.... That means he wants to sword fight you-” Utena broke off. “You mean I’m a duelist?” Inu Yasha was still a bit confused after Utena had explained about the strange duels fought out by the school council. “Yes. But why he’d want to fight you- It should be me, I’m the rose bride’s fiancee...” Utena blushed slightly. “That doesn’t matter- do you have a ring?” Utena asked, holding up her hand. Inu Yasha blinked at the rose crest ring, a bit confused. “No.” He said finally. “Well... I think this is some sort of key. You have to wear it on your finger, so when you open the door-” Utena gave a sigh. “I’ll tell you what, I’LL go with you, and help you out. These guys are tough to beat, and I bet you’ll need the help.” Utena smiled, and got to her feet. “Okay. But I won’t-” Inu Yasha saw Kagome running up to them. “Inu Yasha!! There you are!! You have to see Anthy’s rose house!!” Kagome was off the ball again, chattering on about the wonderful rose garden her new friend Anthy had shown her. Inu Yasha and Utena exchanged a glance. “She’s gonna want to go.” Inu Yasha said weakly. “Uh huh.” Utena nodded. “What? What is it?” Kagome stopped talking, dropping her gesturing hands. CHAPTER THREE: "Dog Demon? What Dog Demon?" Kagome gulped uncertainly. Utena and Inu Yasha were in front of her, staring up at the gates to the battle ground. “Now it’s strange, you have to be careful. Touga is a very good duelist, and he won’t give up easily.” Utena reminded him. “Ch. I can handle it. I just have to get in.” Inu Yasha said, his hand on the hilt of Tetsusaiga. “Are you sure you want to use that beat up sword? You can always use one of the swords at the gym.” Utena asked, her eyes worried. “No, I want to use this one.” Inu Yasha said stubbornly. “Inu Yasha..” Kagome said, coming up beside him. He blinked at her, his eyes narrowed. “You shouldn’t be coming along Kagome. You’ll just get hurt.” “No I won’t! Besides, you always fight better with me cheering you on.” Kagome smiled, her lips trembling. “I’m just worried.” “Feh. Don’t be. Touga won’t know what hit him.” Utena gulped. Famous last words. She reached out to the handle of the gates- and turned it. Kagome and Inu Yasha watched in awe as the gates began to move, forming the crest of a rose. Water fountains sparkled with heavenly light, dazzling the mind’s eye. “Let’s go.” Utena said shakily. “Right.” Inu Yasha stepped onto the stairs, and began to climb. Touga stood there, his arms crossed and a smug smile on his face as Inu Yasha appeared. “Alright Touga.” Inu Yasha nodded, looking a bit surprised to see Anthy standing there. The purple haired girl smiled brightly, and then held up two roses. A red one, and a golden one. She placed the red one on Touga, and then the gold one on Inu Yasha. “Allow me to explain the rules. Whoever has his rose knocked off his chest first- loses.” Touga said nonchalantly. “And what if we win?” Inu Yasha asked. “Then you have the satisfaction knowing you won- we aren’t fighting for the rose bride, just over the honor of my sister’s friend.” Touga replied, matching the other boy’s glare. Inu Yasha glared back intensely. Then he lowered his eyes to see Touga’s sword. It gleamed brightly, the silver colored metal melding with a golden hilt. “You plan to use that?” Inu Yasha nodded shortly to the sword, and a smug smile broke across his face. “Yes I do- it happens to be the best money can buy. Of course, I should be asking you if you plan to use that beat up katana.” Touga said curtly, placing a hand on one hip. “Heh. Looks can be deceiving.” Inu Yasha said softly. Kagome could practically see his ego flaring as she stood at a safe distance with Utena and Anthy. “Enough of this small talk already. You want to fight me? You got it!” Inu Yasha said, and straightened the cap concealing his ears. Touga smiled boredly. “You are a ruffian.” Touga lifted his sword, and licked his lips. “I like that.” “Feh. Sorry but you’re not my type!” Inu Yasha growled, and unsheathed Tetsusaiga. He was about to transform the blade into it’s demonic form, but then had a thought- this man was just a human right? He could play with this fool for a while, and then humiliate him. Heheheh.. perfect. “My how positively disgusting.” Saonji sniffed, looking through the binoculars. Juri swatted him and took the glasses away, looking into them herself. A small laugh escaped her lips, and she pointed. “What a weak sword! It’ll be crushed beneath Touga’s blade!!” Juri handed the binoculars down to Miki, who looked into them carefully. “I know! How can he even bear to look at such a rotten piece?” Saoinji asked, a bit huffy. “I don’t know about this..” Miki said softly.. Inu Yasha dodged one of Touga’s swipes. Damn! He’d nearly gotten cut to ribbons there! Perhaps he had underestimated Touga. Another fast slice, and Inu Yasha barely made it out unscathed- a soft ripping sound was heard. Inu Yasha’s heart went cold, as he felt the cool metal sink into his shoulder. Kagome screamed, reaching out to him. Utena’s face was white, and Anthy looked like it was normal. Kagome’s eyes were wide with fright, and her mouth was opened in a soft plead. He looked down and saw what she was so worried about- Touga hadn’t caught him in the shoulder- he’d caught him straight through the heart! Inu Yasha closed one eye in pain as Touga planted a foot on his back, and pulled his blade out. “That was certainly fast.” Touga smiled, as Inu Yasha fell over. Touga’s smile grew wider, as he ran to tip of his bloodied blade down Inu Yasha’s neck, and shirt. “I must say- that little girl of yours is cute- but you’re even cuter. Why don’t you just give up?” Touga’s mouth trembled when he assessed the damage done to Inu Yasha. He had given him a fatal wound!! “Feh. Like I said, you aren’t my type asshole.” Inu Yasha spat. “Really now?” Touga sounded a bit relieved. Perhaps he’d just caught the shoulder after all. Though why wasn’t he screaming in pain, or crying? Touga caught sight of Inu Yasha’s cap. It was tightly clinging to the boy’s bloodstained, white hair. A sudden urge fell upon him- he wanted to knock that cap off, and then tear off that golden rose... Inu Yasha’s mouth dropped open as Touga’s sword knocked the hat off his head. Touga’s expression was priceless. His eyes got really big, his mouth worked but no sound came out, his sword fell from his fingertips, and his knees shook. “Big bad Touga scared of a little demon?” Inu Yasha regained his senses, and smirked. “AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Touga screamed, as Inu Yasha stood up, pulling out Tetsusaiga. “This blade ain’t so worthless- SEE HERE!!” Inu Yasha shouted, transforming the blade into a mega fang. Touga fainted. “Well that wasn’t fun!!” Inu Yasha sniffed, plucking the red rose from Touga’s shirt, and then shredding it with his claws. Utena and Anthy stared. “He’s got puppy ears Ms. Utena!” Anthy cooed, then began to pet the sweatdropping dog demon. Meanwhile, the rest of the duelists were picking their jaws up off the floor. Kagome and Inu Yasha walked homewards, toward the Higurashi shrine. “I can’t believe the student council asked for us to leave!” Kagome said looking vaguely annoyed. “I can.” Inu Yasha said lazily. “Can you imagine how they looked when they found out bout’ me being a demon?” He asked, a small grin forming on his face. “This is your fault!” Kagome stopped, looking ready to cry. “What is?” “That we didn’t find any Shinkon no Tama!!” Kagome wailed. “I don’t think there ever was any. Utena explained some things to me, so it sounds like that whole school is strange- strange enough to make you think that a shard was there.” Inu Yasha explained. “....” Kagome stared at him. “Plus you’re a real twit, so I’m not surprised that you got your facts screwed up.” He made a face. “WHY YOU!!!!” Kagome grabbed Tetsusaiga from him, and proceeded to chase him down the street, brandishing it over her head. Inu Yasha laughed like crazy, enjoying the feel of the wind in his hair...... Silver Fox: Jeez- that was a crappy ending if I ever wrote one!! Let me know what you think guys. ^_^
